Astrological Birth Charts

I have never explored the world of astrology or the zodiac signs until now. I recently found myself curious about the astrological signs and astrological birth charts. I started doing some research on astrology and the signs, and how they determine your personality or way of life. The first thing I wanted to do was to break down each zodiac sign and get a general understanding of each sign. I was also curious to see how this would possibly define who I was according to my own personal zodiac sign (I happen to be an Aries). I learned that there are twelve zodiac signs, beginning with Aries and ending with Pisces. Then I decided to look up each individual zodiac sign and get a general explanation of each one. Here are my findings with the date ranges for each sign, as well as brief descriptions of each sign:

• Aries (March 21 – April 19): They are known to have a good sense of humor and can be stubborn. Their symbol is the “Ram.”

• Taurus (April 20 – May 20): They are known to have great strength and are very sympathetic. Their symbol is the “Bull.”

• Gemini (May 21 – June 20): They are known to have great flexibility as well as being creative. Their symbol is “Twins.”

• Cancer (June 21 – July 22): They are known as peacemakers. Their symbol is the “Crab.”

• Leo (July 23 – August 22): They are known to be brave, headstrong, loving, and generous. Their symbol is the “Lion.”

• Virgo (August 23 – September 22): They are known to be perfectionists with a naturally good memory. Their symbol is the “Maiden.”

• Libra (September 23 – October 22): They are known to be charming, sociable, and trustworthy. Their symbol is a “Scale.”

• Scorpio (October 23 – November 21): They are known to be bold and exhibit much self-confidence. Their symbol is the “Scorpion.”

• Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21): They are known to be philosophers. Their symbol is the “Archer.”

• Capricorn (December 22 – January 19): They are known to be very intelligent. Their symbols are the “Sea-Goat” or “Mountain Goat.”

• Aquarius (January 20 – February 18): They are known to be honest, loyal, and independent. Their symbol is a “Water Bearer.”

• Pisces (February 19 – March 20): They are known to be very emotional and generous people. Their symbol is “2 Fishes.”

I was curious to see what astrology would say about me. After doing some research, I came across an app called Co-Star, which is a way to create your astrological birth chart. I knew my zodiac sign was Aries, but I was not sure what my birth chart would say about me. I had to insert my date of birth, the exact time I was born, as well as the location of my birth. That information will determine where the planets, sun, and moon are aligned under each sign. It will also tell you what “house” they are in. These positions will then determine my personality and describe my traits.

 The chart determined that my sun is in Aries, in the fifth house. It then provided an explanation as to what that meant. The sun is what would determine my ego, my role in life, and who I am. It was determined that “Your Sun is in Aries, meaning you are fundamentally assertive, and persistent, and courageous. You need to learn to understand other people as complex wholes. It’s in your fifth house, meaning you feel the need to distinguish yourself from others through romance, self-expression, creativity, and pleasure.”

 My moon is in Sagittarius, in the second house. This means that “my emotional self is restless, self-questioning, optimistic, and independent.” The moon will determine emotions, feelings, and mood. Since mine is in the second house, it means “I find security and safety through money and material possessions.”

 Mercury is in Pisces on my chart. This means that “my intellect is emotionally-driven.” This is in the fifth house, which means “I am curious about and inclined to analyze your love life, how to become happy, and your creative projects.”

 Mars is also in Pisces, and in the fifth house. This means “I put a lot of energy into romance, self-expression, creativity, and pleasure.”

 Saturn is in Pisces as well, but in the fourth house. This means “I struggle with my tendency to be a push over and struggle with my emotions.” Since mine is in my fourth house, it means “I have had difficulties with your home and your family.”

 Jupiter and Pluto are both in Scorpio. Since Jupiter is in the first house, it means “I grow and find understanding through passion.” It also told me that “Pluto stays in each sign for up to thirty years, and it rules a generation more than a person.” This means “I am passionate, intense, serious, and private.”

 Venus is in Taurus, and this determines how and what I love. According to the chart “My romantic side is oriented toward comfort and stability.” I can definitely relate to this!

 Neptune and Uranus are both in Capricorn. Neptune is in the third house, and this planet stays in the sign for around fourteen years. It means “I find inspiration through hard work, seriousness, and responsibility.” Uranus stays in the sign for around 7-years and it “rules innovation, rebellion, and progress.” Since Uranus is in the third house, it means it “manifests in rebelling against dated expectations about the things you know and are familiar with.”

After completing the birth chart, I considered the information to be mostly accurate. There were only a few minor details that did not match my personality. I am not sure how much the astrological birth chart could truly influence who I am, or how I may act. However, I did find it worthwhile to research and educate myself about it.
